Crisis in Greece: falsley accused of keeping America in a recession

Last year Greece was blamed for the global recssion. This was only believed because they were so badly hit by it. Headlines read "Greece's recession responsible for keeping America in a recession". This unfair accusation caused Greece to think "what next is the media going to say we're the cause of global". Of course all of Greece Knew it wasn't true. The country is to small to have an impact on the world. People are so naive.  

Man makes an opera of Homer's classic the Iliad

Originally this play was going to be a musical, but changed into an opera. The man who created this is George Tsouris. He himself couldn't understand operas, even in english so he decided to have it sung in ancient greek. He decided ancient greek over modern greek to create a more "magical" feel. It premiered in New York on May 15.

Annual Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund

A day of much fun and joy, this event helps bring scholarships to kids, as well as fun to everyone who attends. The annual funding project brings in bands, has fine dining, and dancing. They gave four scholarships to Greek schools, as well as thirty to Americans. Many who are given scholarships come to help set it up.
